MLG Raleigh Champion FXO Leenock
Three days of what most people consider to be the toughest StarCraft II tournament format outside of Korea has just concluded with a repeat champion.  Leenock of Team FXOpen, who had previously won MLG Providence 2011, has taken the top spot in MLG Summer Championships 2012 in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Leenock proved unstoppable against his opponent  First of Incredible Miracle in the grand finals, brushing him off with a 4-1 score.  TaeJa of Team Liquid took home third and  theStc of Quantic Gaming with fourth. Fifteen of the top sixteen are Koreans, which has been one of the major trends for most of MLG’s StarCraft II events.

1st Place – $25,000 – Leenock

2nd Place – $15,000 – First

3rd/4th Place – $7,250 – Taeja, TheSTC

Destiny Leaves MLG Competition

coLKiller wins 2-0 by DQ over Destiny in OWR5. #MLG

Why Destiny Left MLG/Drama
Long story short, a girl who goes by the handle BlueTea sent Destiny nude pictures of herself sometime ago.  He went ahead and shared those pictures with 2 friends of his. The girl found out over the weekend and decided to get back at Destiny by hacking his twitter and posting nude pictures of him in his Root Gaming Jersey.
Unable to remove the photos or twitter post, destiny left MLG Saturday night and flew home, forfeiting his remaining matches.

Destiny and Root Gaming Part Ways

As a team that is trying to grow and become a respectable organization in a growing industry; a team that was created and is ran by professional gamers, situations like this hurt us and our future chances of success. Our current sponsors were very understanding of the situation and for that I thank them. But that is not to say doors won’t close in the future because of previous incidents.

We release Steven today because there are 25+ people working hard everyday to make ROOT grow and we don’t want their efforts to be in vain. We release Destiny today because as selfish as it may sound, I’d rather release Steven today than disband our team tomorrow due to lack of financial support.

Hey Garrett and Kyle,
Listening to your show since episode 30 or so, even sent you a mail once :D  Lately I have had some things to point out to you guys or ask, so here we go.
1. You always thank the people who gave starcast a 5-star review on itunes, but I think you only thank the American people there. I made my 5-star review, but I think only the dutch people can see those.
2. Are there people who come to you to come on the show, or are you always the one asking?
3. Why is the show on such an crazy hour for us European people?
4. If starcast already has a teamspeak server I would like to know that, and how active is it? Are there any people on it?
5. One of the features I’m quite excited about in HotS is the possibility to play cross-region. Why are people not talking more about that? I’ve always wanted to speak to the American people, play a 4v4 with the famous people on starcast (i.e. Garrett, Kyle, KingOctavious, Hipster etc.) And maybe we could even do a cross region starcast  tournament.
Do you know if this feature will already be available at the start of the beta? How was that with the Diablo 3 beta?
6. If you could get anything, as long as it is something physical (boat, house, racecar, case with money etc). What would it be?
7. What do you expect of Windows 8? Have you tested it, and is it really as bad as everyone says?
